  • Compatible with Adobe Acrobat, Foxit and most PDF readers.
  • Free and unlimited — no watermarks, no signup.

How to use

  1. Upload or drag & drop your file — everything runs right in your browser.
  2. Pick your options and hit the process button.
  3. Download the result — fast, free, no account required.

Safety & privacy

Your file is encrypted on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The password you set is never sent anywhere — it is embedded into the file in browser memory and saved into the output. No servers, no storage, no logs.

Genuinely free — no limits

KitsyApp is 100% free — no signup, no daily limits, no watermarks. Processing quality is on par with paid tools like Smallpdf or iLovePDF, and your files are processed on your own device instead of someone else's server.

Frequently asked questions

How long should my password be?

At least 8 characters, ideally 12+ mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols. Avoid birthdays and phone numbers. Longer passwords increase cracking time exponentially.

What if I forget the password I set?

There is no recovery — that is the whole point of encryption. Store passwords in a password manager. If you still remember it, use our Unlock PDF tool to create an unlocked copy.

Will the protected file open on phones?

Yes. Every popular PDF reader on iOS and Android supports entering the open password of standard encrypted PDFs.

Does the recipient need to install anything?

No. Any built-in PDF reader on a computer or phone works — just enter the password.
